Introductions

Hi everyone,
I'm somewhat new to this group but have been following your all's ideas for a little while now. Overall, I really like the "tone" of everything I read here and am looking for a community of liked minded wild ones. About me, I teach educational research and counseling at a university in Philly (U.S.) and am really looking to find an avenue to talk about all of the cool things that you all seem to be doing. Maybe even do some research and work on publishing some articles. My current hobbies include
- ice swimming and breathing alla Wim Hof
- trying to brew my own kombucha (I've gone through three batches but it's still not quite right)
- harvesting medicinal mushrooms like Chaga and Ling Zhi
- playing music (guitar) and learning to paint/draw
- different types of exercise and martial arts (boxing lately)
- and now the tutorials here!

Let me know how it's going! Thanks for being here and so cool.

Re: Introductions

Thanks, no I haven't ever had the lion's mane. I think I've seen it, but never picked it. Usually if anything I just find chanterells, sulferilius, and the two I mentioned above. Ice swimming might be an acquired taste, but it certainly blasts you off to "zen world" once you get over the shock, just don't want to stay in too long.

Hi HerronOwen,
Welcome aboard.
You can reply to any post it doesn't matter who starts it.

NH I am interested in the power of creativity for strong resilience. Music, art, poetry and particularly stories,  and nature for mental health generally, has made me a much happier person.

Re: Introductions

That is nice of you, thank you.

I wonder if there is a record or a blog that tells the experience of the writer about the tutorial. It would be a nice second-hand experience to experience.

Anyway since this is a newbie big post(the Bay), i would like to ask some questions.

Here is my filled mind template:
http://www.neurohackers.com/components/com_agora/img/members/36323/mini_My-Current-Mind.png

As you can see, following the tutorial, what I should do is do the exercise for N1&N2 and N6. Also Hack for N6 again because of X-marked.

So just for clarification, does that mean i can skip to tutorial 16-18 to do the hack&exercise for N6 development?

currently im doing N1&N2 exercise daily.

Another question is regard to archetypal role, from the tutorial:http://www.neurohackers.com/components/com_agora/img/members/36323/mini_benefactor.png
http://www.neurohackers.com/components/com_agora/img/members/36323/mini_N5-skills.png

I'm just wondering why some other roles are included:
1) is thief and pirate an N5 because they can assess what is worth or not?
2) I cannot see the association between Benefactor and skills provided, is there probably a children's story that i can follow up or specific character?
3) Han Solo is the same as Benefactor
4) practically i don't really understand N5 roles, maybe theres an association that i miss between all the roles mentioned for N5, clarify it to me.
5) the skills and habits for the N5 looks like N6 to me, because N6 (as they are known as CEO of the whole brain, executive function, etc) is a like commander or a king.

Re: Introductions

I just want to report an interesting improvement.

right now i can smell more. I was known as a person who can only smell very strong smell.

the only thing i can think of why is, the daily exercise of N1&N2 as it focuses on senses.

I'm gonna continue exercise them for two more months before training N4, my second earliest weak network.

Re: Introductions

Another interesting to report.

I realised that I can read the computer maybe a few centimeter away than normal. I think this is because of the eye sense exercise that should develop the muscle of the eye.

As I don't have enough concrete measurement before this. I just put my current eye ability which is 41.5 cm.

And we will wait if I can have real improvement after doing lot of exercise.

Intermediate Neurohacker(I believe i am not a newbie now because thats what its said in the tutorial, in other words, i have enough inner database to understand NH),

Re: Introductions

Hi dude,
Re: I wonder if there is a record or a blog that tells the experience of the writer about the tutorial.

I'm responsible for most of the tutorial content, but not sure what you mean here, do you mean my own notes on techniques or stuff I've tried out? Or notes on the experience of writing? Or...?

Re: does that mean i can skip to tutorial 16-18 to do the hack&exercise for N6 development?

You can find exercises for all networks in Sakiro's Hackipedia here:
http://www.neurohackers.com/index.php/e … hackipedia

or by all means pull some from future tutorials. Don't miss out any tutorials though, because they're deliberately in the right order, each giving you information that you will need to understand the next bit.

Re:  Archetypal roles: 1) is thief and pirate an N5 because they can assess what is worth or not? AND 2) I cannot see the association between Benefactor and skills provided, is there probably a children's story that i can follow up or specific character?

The key factors to Benefactor archetypes is, they are persons who have sufficient resources not only to help themselves progress, but also to assist others they deem worthy of assistance. Put simply, they share their resources with others because they have plenty. That might be plenty of knowledge, plenty of experience, plenty of gold dubloons, plenty of support in a crisis, or plenty of free software.
In mythology, the clearest examples are the 'Good King', Santa, Robin Hood or anyone making culture open source.

3)Han Solo is the same as Benefactor

Is this a question? Han Solo certainly benefits Luke et al, in various ways throughout the movies.

4)practically i don't really understand N5 roles, maybe theres an association that i miss between all the roles mentioned for N5, clarify it to me.

Hopefully the above will help; if not let me know.
Welcome aboard!
Best,
AR
